Our Materials

We want our consumer goods to last for a long time. Therefore, we are particularly careful with materials, fit and production methods. In addition, we only collaborate with producers and manufacturers that share our ethical values regarding working conditions, animal husbandry and environmental impact.

Merino Wool

Many of the yarns in our garments are made from natural materials. So long before they became your favourite products, they were something else. The soft, elastic merino wool comes from merino sheep. All our merino wool yarns come from non-mulesed sources. To improve wear resistance, we add a little polymide to our socks, and elastane to optimize the fit.

Wash Care

Always follow the washing recommendations on the label! Machine wash using the wool programme at 30°C. The wool programme functions like a tub in most machines and, therefore, is gentler on knitted wool garments. Please use liquid detergent. It is best to use a wash bag or a tied-up pillow case in order to avoid destroying the surface of the fibres. It is always worth investing in a wool detergent. Skip using the washing machine’s spin cycle. Instead, place the product on a flat towel, roll together and squeeze out the excess water. Then allow to dry flat. Remember! Often it is enough to air your knitted socks, hats and mittens, preferably outdoors in damp weather. Store your wool products in sealed bags in the off-season.

A few lines about pilling.

Pilling are formed by the surplus fibres of natural yarn. When you wear the products, the fibres are subject to wear and mat together in small clumps. Pilling are easily removed by using your fingers or brushing gently with a normal clothes brush. Do not allow too many pilling to form as they wear down the product. If you take care of your products, the formation of pilling will stop, as eventually there won’t be any surplus fibres left. NOTE: Never use so-called pilling removers. They damage the products and cut fibres leading to the formation of new pilling.
